The Higher Ranks
Betas are second in command. They play a similar role as the Alphas, and take care of pack affairs during the Alphas absence. While the Alphas are present, the Betas settle only minor disputes and issues.
Heirs are usually the Alpha's pups. They will take the place of the Alphas. Even as pups, they are treated with privilege.
Gammas are the lowest rank to hold a lead duty. They act as overseers of the pack and pay close attention to the pack members who are excelling. The Gammas consult with the Alphas and offer suggestions of which pack members should be promoted and demoted.

RANK DUTIES
____________ ... ____________
These are the Ranks given to pack mates. Each pack mate is expected to perform their specific task regularly, or when requested. Each Rank is split into three divisions depending upon its purpose.
_________ ... _________
PROTECT DIVISION
PROTECT DIVISION
Elites the most advanced fighters within the pack. They're a small, exclusive group of wolves who have mastered difficult fighting techniques. They oversee the Guardians and Warriors, but the majority of their time is spent guarding the Higher Ranks.
Guardians are intermediate fighters. They protect the pack when there are threats, or make sure everything is secure. Guardians also train and supervise Warriors. These wolves are very stable and reliable.
Warriors are the least skilled. They are under the training of the Guardians, but have enough basic skill of fighting to help when there are threats.
GATHER DIVISION
Hunters are the main providers of food. They travel in small groups and are skilled in tracking game. While most wolves catch small meals for themselves, the Hunters provide food to the pack members who are unable to; Pups, Denmothers, Elders and the sick.
Fishers specialize in hunting aquatic prey. They're aware of fish breeding grounds and catch a wide array of fish species. These wolves also have a keen eye for bears, and love to get wet.
SUPPORT DIVISION
Healers have a vast knowledge of sicknesses and diseases. They're skilled in herbal remedies and tend to the sick and injured. These wolves are usually lead by a Shaman.
Denmothers tend to stay close to the pack den. They care for the pups; nursing them while their mothers are away and teaching them proper manners. They have the uncanny ability of keeping pups out of mischief.
Scouts keep an eye out for possible threats. They go on patrols regularly, making sure scent marks are fresh and there's nothing suspicious in the territory. Scouts will also run errands for the Higher Ranks.
____________ ... ____________
Elders are pack mates retired from their Rank duties. These wolves spend their time relaxing and telling stories/legends. Elders are always taken care of, and highly regarded in the pack.
Subordinates are wolves who are old enough to no longer be under the care of Denmothers, but still too young to be given a Rank. They often tag along with the Ranks they are interested in and observe them. Subordinates are often troublesome.
Omegas are the lowest Rank within the pack. Reasons for being an Omega vary, but all Omegas at some point broke a rule. Omegas are at the whim of the Alpha and Higher Ranks' aggression. Sometimes, wolves receive this Rank because they're extremely submissive.
